Black Gold

Snapped this picture on the edge of the golf course today. This oil well is a working "nodding donkey" well which is continuously pumping oil. It is located right on the side of the third fairway at Awali. You can hear it chuntering away as you walk past. There are actually quite a few located on and around the course. I expected all worthwhile oil wells to be huge things so I was a bit surprised to see this.

Weather still fantastic. Watching the forecast in Scotland with interest. It doesnt look too good for our return which is now only one week away.

Fingers crossed. If its still looking bad next Wednesday I'll have to ask you all to get out a clear a wee bit of runway so that our plane can land!

See you soon.
David

  1. There has been a slight thaw today but it will take a while at the rate it was dripping today. there has been diggers and lorries up at the top end of the town taking the snow away I don,t knoe where they are dumping it . Valerie and colin have had their parking areas cleared a bit. We managed to take the car to the shops today but the car parks are a nightmare.Had to stop writing there as michael skyped because of the weather he hasn't had much work. Looking forward to seeing you both won't be long now love mumxxx
