Today we visited the Bahrain International Raceway where the Formula 1 season holds one of its races. It was the scene of the start and finish of the Bahrain Relay Marathon. The school had a student team and a staff team entered. The staff team managed a very creditable 3 hrs 40 minutes but the students managed once again to beat them although this time by only 5 minutes. Staff have never managed to beat the students. Each runner runs about 3 km and its 46km in total, a little over marathon distance.
Here is the staff anchor man Paul Millington crossing the finish line. Note the late October weather!
Managed to return the hire car to the airport this morning and the Actyon performed really well today. It cost us £8.40 to fill it with fuel because it is a big car after all.
Went in to the finance house to send some money back. Like much of Bahrain life it all seemed a bit dubious. I will rest easier when I see that the money has arrived safely in my bank account. I have also managed to set up internet banking now too and so hopefully that will allow me to transfer from the comfort of my own livingroom.
Hope this finds you all well and enjoying this recent fine spell of weather.
David
